Wealthophobia

Phobia means fear and the title WEALTHOPHOBIA means fear of wealth. In times when everyone is working to make more wealth for himself and his famly, a doubt arises why would anyone be afraid of the wealth. Someone told "With power, comes responsibility". I shall say, "With wealth, comes expectations".

In times like ours, where the corruption is high, every person has got a price(Challo Dilli movie). If we can get the price, we can get the job done. It is a universal truth, but never accepted on face value. Very rarely we can meet people, wno cannot be put a price tag and these are very small percentage of people and hence can be neglected for anykind of discussions, as the errors of commission and ommission.

This being kaliyuga, where Dharma walks on one leg, meaning dharma is highly unstable and critical condition. People fight for money, even family members, kill one another for the sake on money. Our country with 49% of the people under starvation, means we are a famine struck nation. But our philosophical nature, people tend accept this state as fate and let people become ultra rich and continue with their lives.

If a person becomes rich, it is notonly because of his efforts, but also because others have allowed him to become so. When a discussion on criminals arise, the rights activists claim that criminals are born out of the ills of the society, so also the rich are born out of the goodness of the society.

The rich want more security, and generally people tending to acquire some amount of wealth get disentangled with their old society and try to become a part of the world where richer live. The fear of thives, murdrers, car jackers etc are all part of the wealthophobia in someways. First people work tirelessly to make wealth and then work to protect it. There can be great amount of peace and satisfaction associated with the great amount of wealth ammassed.

What is the use of the wealth that lays in safety and security, when millions are still hungry. The question is not whether you pay tax or not, but whether you have accumulated more than your share. The fear of future has been instilled so much that we tend to accumulate so much that the wealth start to kill.

Many of the persons change due to the accumulation of wealth, and people usually fear the wealthy because of the things wealthy can do and get away with. Wealthophobia exists in many forms and prevails.

A saying goes, Street never get skin rashes.
Make wealth for the family, but never make family with wealth.
