The education has too much importance in the present day scenario. If not for the talks of some eminent scientists and other bigs in the field of education, the mad rush for getting an engineering or a MBBS degree would not have reduced. People want to project themselves as engineers of some big company and get satisfaction, or at least ake their parents, aunts, uncles, spouses, children happy. The world has shrunk to an extent that the boundaries for capable men who can deliver results in adverse conditions is invisible.
All over the world the bench marking is being done by Americans in everywalk of life and others are simpling aping it to get into the elite group of people. It seems very interesting how fashion is connected to all this. Fashion is part of getting into the elite group. The americans, europeans live in the northern hemisphere, but still live air conditioned rooms to up the room temperatures. To keep their body warm when they go outside, they wear multi layered clothing. It is fully a requirement in those countries.
In India where the temperatures, whether the multilayered clothing is necessary is a serious question that needs to be answered. We see people who want to meet american clientele, getting ready with new suits and boots just to make an impression that we are in their levels. The respect is given to the suits and not to the person in the suits.
If a group of people wears there fashionable armani suits, and a person joins the group wearing ordinary clothes he is not treated on par with others, even though he is big intellectual. This is called fashion untouchability and we ignore all these but highlight the untouchability practised in the villages.
This fashion untouchability is predominant in urban centers, more so in cities and also in villages as usual. What is needed is that people should respect the person not the clothes wears as told by Mr. Ishwar Chandra Vidhyasagar.
