Social Taboos - Indians

There are several social taboos which are present in our country also like in any other country. These taboo things are being practiced behind closed walls within closed groups and without much fanfare. The persons involved in the taboo have little respect for the people around them because they are doing things that the society doesnot readily accept.

One social taboo associated is with a person visiting a psychitriast. This can be a stigma but the difference is becoming verythin. We care little about what the society thinks when we do things like spitting on the roads, writing on the walls of ancient structures, urinating behind electric transformers, smoking in the public. But why do we care so much about the society when we do a thing with a hint of taboo/stigma.

Very strange are the attitudes os the Indians.
