Age, Respect and favouritism

I believe the indian languages unlike british has words which imply respect as spoken in general terms. For example, a 80old man is standing and a teen sees him and wants to call him for some reason. In english it may be, "excuse me, you come here, (sir in rare circumstances). But in hindi it would be "bhaisaab, aap idhar ayeiye". The for a younger man may be "hum, idhar aao". The words spoken imply respect.

Indians in general crave for respect and many times demand it and many donot want to give it just like that. So the best available option is to speak in language which inherently lacks words of respect. So the language got importance and so is the respect for the elderly. People obtained a false sense of pride by speaking in english while they feel shy to speak their native language in public places.

In colleges, offices, and MNCs those who speak non english are seen as aliens from Mars. In MNC it is a good language for firing the employee and many times the words of foreigners who come to companies to interact with the project team, are not understood, and we feel bogged down because we donot understand their language and make all efforts to speak like them in their accent. A sign of inferiority complex.

We have to comeout this complexes and speak out mother tongue, local languages, indian languages proudly as these languages have inherent respect built in them. Indian languages are great but the languages are disappearing.
