Intolerance on Roads- A identity

Everybody wants to show others how they are mentally and the best way is to tell stories of breaking the rules and getting away with it without any punishment. People proudly declare all the mischief they committed like drunk and driving, escaping from hit and run, over speeding on city roads, breaking traffic rules, bribing policemen, reduce the bribe money, and all other stuff. Only some 5% of the people in our country are generally benders and break rules because they know they can get away with it.

If by any chance they are caught, these people some uncle who is influential and makes a few calls and he is let off and the caught person goes proudly as if he won a olympic gold medal and merries even after he has killed some one on the road. The bigger engine the more arrogant the drivers become, because bigger comes with price and the common man cannot afford. The driving will be rash with no respect for other road users.

The government bodies are equally responsible for this sad state of affairs. The pedestrians have to continuously worry about their safety while moving on the roads where there no peoper foot paths. The government is very happily encouraging people to buy private vehicles but not making them to pay for the parking instead, the governement is allowing them to park on the roads thus effectively reducing the space for the pedistrains.

The indifference shown towards the pedistrians(majority of poor and weaker sections of society) by the consumers of resources, in this case road space(generally the stronger sections) is the non acceptance of one group by another. This non acceptance manifests as intolerance, and results in the weaker group to create problems and form unions like the streek hawkers occupying the good pavements, people running on the roads at all areas, purposefully overtaking of autos, bikes from wrong side, getting out of speeding buses. Unless this intolerance reduces, people will go on to become wild human where might is right and will eventually lead to collapse of the society.

It is therefore said that Roads indicate the state of the nation.
